Another pleasant valley sunday...
here i sit, at appx. 10:08, in a still house. i have my trusty coffeemaker to keep me company (god bless you, gevalia.) and the lilting sounds of X103, which is only good from 8 to 12 on sunday mornings. the hangover cafe is the only decent radio show here in nap-town. we in the know call it nap-town. you people call it Mecca for Losers, and you'd be right. someday i'll be delivered...
my husband and son, lazy creatures that they are, are still asleep in my bedroom. i am downstairs, freezing in my flimsy pajamas because my husband believes that we live on the equator, and we must have frigid air blasting through the house at all times in order to keep from shriveling up. i'd put on warmer things, but i don't want to risk waking either of them. kris expressed the desire to sleep in, and brodie? well, let's just say that my moments of absolute solitude are few and far between, and i'm relishing this one. everytime i hear the floor creak, i freeze, as if by moving i could somehow make noise over kris's snoring and the fan that's running in there.
so, after a nice chat yesterday with my mom about the joys of exercise (what song is this? i think they used to play it at B&N all the time...well, there's something that'll haunt me all day) i think i shall dedicate myself anew. i'ts been, what, a month or something since i went home? easter, maybe? when was that? anyway, with the exception of 2 or 3 days, i've been faithfully crunching and the like - yes, all you ladies know about the infamous crunch - but i abandoned my time on the walker/glider thingy because it's really aggrivating my back, and i'm not going back to the chiropractor. not that i mind the back popping and such, i liked that. it's the copay i didn't care for., let me reiterate, in case i haven't made it abundantly clear lately. Stephanie is CHEAP. and his name was Dr. Wong, and he was kind of bitchy. so there. (old 97's. i knew i recognized the song. ha.) after talking to my recently pudgy mother who is now exercising again, she told me that she saw some deal on tv, blah blah walk 2 miles 3 times a week, less diseases and you're healthy, blah...and actual walking seems to treat my back far kinder than simulated walking. so i'm gonna walk. yay.
this weekend, indiana boasts being the home of one of the largest Star Wars conventions in the country. driving home after dropping my man at work, i saw 3 young men clad in "jedi" outfits walking down the street. i honked and did the devil thing, you know? throwing goats? yeah. i wonder if i confused them. i can't help it. i'm a total slave to the pop culture that extends from my childhood. Star Wars, Transformers, Duran Duran....these things will never not be cool to me.
i'd go on, but sings of life emerge from the upstairs. enjoy my odd placement of capital letters and inane choice of topics. may the force be with you....
