Yes, I am full of myself today.

i'd like to take a minute to address the "yes, but..." syndrome. first and foremost, let me say that i hate it. while there are many contemptible things in this world that irritate me...(for example, why does only 44% percent of the citizens of america polled want september 11th to be a holiday? is there something about that day that doesn't deserve to be memorialized? more on that later, as the fated day approaches.)...this is one of the most infuriating. so you have problems. i get that. you're not happy for this reason or another. understood. why, then, when people present you with possible solutions for your predicament, do you say, "yes, but..."? why do you place obstacles in your own path? so the solution may not the the quick, instant fix that you're longing for - guess what? you're never going to get it. NEVER. once again, i say NEVER. (okay, there's a chance that you might...there's a better chance you'll get hit by a piece of a meteorite from outer space, which happened to a little girl in england. that girl is gonna get rich soon - but you're not her!!) any problem worth whining over for days, weeks, god forbid longer than that, will require work to eradicate it. if you don't have the fortitude to do what needs to be done, then do the rest of the world a favor and shut up about it. please. we don't want to hear it anymore; we'd much prefer that you suffer in silence so we can refrain from being dragged down by your inability to work things out.
