Happy Independance Day.
Today we celebrate America winning her independance from England. Now, I know that we all have mixed feelings on the state of our fair nation, and with good reason. But I believe with all my heart that I live in the greatest country in the world. I thank god that I was born and raised in the Untied States. I live in a country where I have the freedom to say whatever is on my mind. I can speak out about things I see in our nation's government that I disapprove of, and I don't have to worry about a bullet in the back of the head. I can affect change within our country, because I can vote. I can own a gun. I can worship God, Satan, a teddy bear, or a two-liter of pop. I can stand on the steps of the Capitol Building or on the corner of Main Street and protest. I have the same rights as a man. I have over 500 channels on my tv. I have electricity and running water in my house. I am innocent until proven guilty. I have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It may not seem like much to those of us who have had these things since the day we were born, but other people in countries across the world have died trying set foot on this soil and earn the same for themselves. It's not perfect here, but I wouldn't give up up for anything in this world. I am an American.
