Happy Day of the Beast!
Today's 06/06/06, so I thought I'd actually blog in celebration, being that it's such a special day and I haven't blogged for a long time.
National Day of Slayer
Things are much the same as they have been. Moving to a new apartment at the end of next month and out of the ghetto, which will be fabulous - and, barring any unforseen complications, I will have my washer and dryer back as well. I have missed them terribly. It'll be so nice to enjoy some peace and quiet... if you've mever been over to my place (and 99% of the people who read this have not), you haven't been treated to the entire apartment community standing out in the courtyard yelling at the top of the lungs at each other. Oh, they're not angry. They just can't speak at a reasonable volume. I won't even go into the garbage, the music, the general attitudes... here's a tip - ask if the building is Section 8 before you move in.
I have been noting the unrest in MT with wariness. It's hard, running that place. Thankless. When someone actaully bothers to say they appreciate what you're trying to do, it's so unexpected and touching that it almost chokes a person up. Very, very few of the people there know what it takes, on a daily basis, trying to please everyone. It sucks, and it wears you down, there's so many offers of help in the beginning but so very little actual support, and everyone is judging you through the filter of their own opinions... everyone in MT is blessed to have her, and they should be thankful that her patience has extended this far.
